Pathophysiology
General Information
Pathological physiology is taught to students of the 3rd year for 5th–6th semesters.
Pathological physiology as an academic discipline:
a) is based on studying by students of anatomy, histology, physiology, medical physics and chemistry, medical biology, immunology, microbiology, and is integrated with these disciplines, – vertical integration;
b) is studied simultaneously with pathological anatomy, pharmacology, and integrates them horizontally;
c) lays the foundations for study of clinical subjects (internal diseases, surgical diseases, pediatry, obstetrics and gynecology, clinical pharmacology, anesthesiology, and others); for these disciplines, pathophysiology is the theoretical basis;
d) develops professional capacity for clinical thinking;
e) determines etiological and pathogenetic principles of prevention, diagnosis and treatment of diseases, which has important practical significance for clinic.
