On April 23–25, 2026, the XXIII International Scientific and Practical Student Conference UMESCO 2026 was held in Uzhhorod in a hybrid format, bringing together young researchers from various higher education institutions.
Within the section of fundamental research, the department was достойно represented by a 2nd-year student of group MCm-405, Alona Parkhomchuk, who delivered a presentation titled “The Impact of Antibiotics on the Genetic Structure of the Human Microbiome.” In her report, the student highlighted актуальні issues related to the effects of antibacterial therapy on the human microbiome, particularly changes in its genetic diversity and potential health consequences. The research was conducted under the supervision of Associate Professor Olha Obukhova.
Participation in such events contributes to the development of students’ scientific thinking, the formation of research skills, and integration into the international academic community.
