Sumy State University Open Day for Prospective Students

The Department of Physiology and Pathophysiology took part in Sumy State University’s Open Day as part of its career guidance activities.

On 17 October 2026, an in-person meeting was held at Sumy State University, in Building K-3 (the shelter), bringing together senior secondary school pupils and students from various educational institutions in Sumy and the surrounding region.

The event aimed to introduce prospective students to medical degree programmes, the educational process, and the facilities and resources of the Educational and Research Medical Institute. It also provided guidance on the specific requirements and procedures of the university admissions process.

Zoia Levchenko, a teaching assistant at the Department, together with Alona Liashko, a third-year student in group MC.m-402, offered advice to prospective applicants on preparing for university admission, studying medical subjects, exploring new opportunities, and building a successful future career.

The programme also included practical demonstrations and interactive workshops, such as an experiment to determine blood groups and a quiz about human blood. Participants gained valuable insights into the Department’s strong research and educational potential.

Visitors were also interested in learning about student life at the Educational and Research Medical Institute through informal conversations with representatives of the Student Council. Students shared their personal experiences of university life, including their studies, leisure activities, and accommodation in student halls of residence.

The event was a success and achieved its intended objectives. The Open Day helped increase young people’s interest in medical degree programmes and strengthen the positive image of the Institute among prospective students.

We would like to thank all participants for their enthusiasm and active involvement. We wish them continued success in their studies and every success in achieving their future goals!

We look forward to welcoming senior secondary school pupils and college students as future students of the Educational and Research Medical Institute at Sumy State University!
