On April 14–17, 2026, the XV International Scientific and Practical Conference “Transformations of Education in the Era of Modern Technologies” was held in Kraków (Poland). First-year student Oleksandr Riabenko participated in the conference with a presentation titled “The Impact of Electronic Cigarettes on the Oral Microbiome,” under the supervision of Associate Professor Antonina Biesiedina.
In his research, the presenter addressed the актуальна issue of the impact of electronic cigarettes on human health, particularly on the oral microbiome. The study analyzed how the components of electronic cigarette aerosol can alter the composition and balance of microorganisms, which in turn may lead to the development of inflammatory processes, dental caries, and gum diseases. Special attention was given to the comparative analysis of the effects of traditional smoking and electronic cigarette use, as well as to modern microbiome research methods, including molecular genetic approaches. Participation in the event enabled the student to deepen his knowledge and present the results of his own research at the international level.
We wish Oleksandr further success in his scientific endeavors!
