On May 11–12, 2026, the International Student Congress MUISC 2026 was held in a hybrid format. The congress was organized by Maltepe University as an international academic platform for students in the field of natural sciences. The event took place in Istanbul, Turkey, and brought together students and young researchers from different countries. The congress corresponded to one of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals — “Good Health and Well-Being,” promoting knowledge about human health, the functioning of the human body, disease prevention, and mental well-being.
As part of the congress, first-year student Karina Soloshchenko (group MC-502) delivered an oral scientific presentation in English titled “Decoding Acne Mechanisms via Rare Genetic Disorders.” The presentation focused on the analysis of molecular and genetic mechanisms underlying acne development through the study of rare genetic disorders. The scientific supervisor was Associate Professor Antonina Besiedina.
Participation in the international academic event allowed the student to improve her scientific communication skills in English, gain experience in presenting research at the international level, expand academic and professional connections, and deepen her knowledge in the fields of biomedicine, genetics, and dermatology. The event broadened opportunities for presenting personal research, professional development, and integration into the international academic environment.
We wish Karina continued success in her scientific endeavors!
