Over the course of five months, Associate Professors Antonina Biesiedina and Olha Obukhova of the Department of Physiology and Pathophysiology successfully completed a professional English language training program at Yappi Corporate English School, significantly enhancing their proficiency in Business English and technical English.
YAPPI CORPORATE is Ukraine’s leading specialized school dedicated exclusively to corporate English language training. The program enabled participants to improve their professional communication skills through innovative teaching approaches and modern educational technologies.
The instructors participated in classes based on contemporary learning methodologies, including the Flipped Classroom approach, in which learning materials are studied in advance through a mobile application before each lesson, allowing classroom time to focus on practical communication rather than traditional homework. The program also incorporated a spaced repetition system, helping learners review material at scientifically optimized intervals to maximize long-term retention. In addition, participants could combine live lessons with instructors and independent study through an interactive online learning platform.
The course featured a modern digital textbook developed in accordance with the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR). The learning materials were updated weekly with content reflecting current global events, enabling participants to stay engaged with authentic English-language resources and independently complete missed lessons when necessary.
Enhancing foreign language proficiency is an essential component of the professional development of academic staff. It strengthens opportunities for international cooperation, participation in international research projects, academic mobility, and the publication of research findings in leading international journals.
The knowledge and skills acquired through this program will contribute to expanding the department’s international activities, strengthening academic partnerships, and further integrating the department into the global scientific and educational community.
