Participation In An International Conference

From May 3 to 8, Oleksii Sadovnychyi, a student of the Medicine program (group MC.m-402), participated in the XIX International Scientific and Practical Conference “New Paradigms of Interdisciplinary Research: Theories, Ideas, and Developments,” which was held in Prague, Czech Republic.

At the conference, the student presented the research paper “Study of VDR Gene Polymorphisms in the Development of Athletes’ Physical Qualities,” devoted to investigating the influence of genetic variations of the vitamin D receptor (VDR) gene on the development of athletes’ physical characteristics, such as strength, endurance, speed, and adaptation to physical activity. The research was supervised by Associate Professor Antonina Besedina.

The study analyzed current data in the field of sports genetics, compared the genotypes of athletes from different sports specializations, and evaluated the possible relationship between VDR gene polymorphisms and athletic performance. The obtained results may be useful for predicting athletic potential.
