Together with the Medical Institute: The Path to Scientific Success

On March 31, researchers from the Department of Physiology and Pathophysiology with the Course of Medical Biology at Sumy State University (SumDU) welcomed teachers of the natural sciences who are interested in preparing students for research projects within the framework of the Minor Academy of Sciences. The event also attracted educators eager for professional development and collaboration with SumDU. Teachers from various secondary schools in Sumy and the village of Stetskivka attended the gathering.

Professor Viktoria HARBUZOVA emphasized the importance of fruitful cooperation and highlighted the effectiveness of partnerships aimed at enhancing the quality of student research.

The event featured the following presentations:

  1. The Path to Scientific Success: Research Methodology for School Students– Professor Viktoriia HARBUZOVA.
  2. Methodology for Solving Genetic Problems: From Mendelian Inheritance to Sex-Linked Traits– Associate Professor Olha OBUKHOVА.
  3. Opportunities for Collaboration with the Department of Physiology and Pathophysiology with the Course of Medical Biology at the Educational and Scientific Medical Institute– Associate Professor Antonina BIESIEDINA.

Teachers expressed great interest in involving students in the department’s scientific research, preparing them for the fourth stage of the All-Ukrainian Student Olympiad in Biology, and engaging them in research projects as members of the Minor Academy of Sciences of Ukraine at the Molecular Genetics Research Laboratory. They were also keen on opportunities for students to participate in the department’s scientific clubs and SumDU conferences, such as “The First Step into Science.” Additionally, modern methods for solving genetic problems sparked significant interest.

The event became a platform for exchanging knowledge, ideas, and initiatives aimed at fostering an active, goal-oriented, and successful young generation.
