Student Scientific Society Meeting – Treatment or Rejuvenation? What Are Botulinum Toxin-Based Drugs Capable Of?

On April 10, 2025, the Department of Physiology and Pathophysiology held the first April meeting of the Student Scientific Society.
The topic of the meeting was: “Treatment or Rejuvenation? What Are Botulinum Toxin-Based Drugs Capable Of?”

During the meeting, which was held online, participants presented and discussed current scientific achievements in the application of botulinum toxin not only in aesthetic cosmetology but also in medicine.

At present, numerous protocols for the use of botulinum toxin in treating a wide range of diseases have been approved. The event fostered the exchange of ideas, deepened knowledge, and encouraged the search for new research directions.

Olha Rozmaita, a third-year student, shared her experience of participating in the Bukovinian International Medical and Pharmaceutical Congress of Students and Young Scientists (BIMCO 2025), which took place on April 2–4, 2025, in Chernivtsi. She had the honor of presenting on this topic at the congress.

Students presented four reports:

  1. Kobyletska A., MC.m-302.“The Use of Botulinum Toxin in Individuals with Cerebral Palsy.”
  2. Hrytsaienko Kh., MC.m-302.“The Use of Botulinum Toxin in Parkinson’s Disease.”
  3. Bondar Ya., MC.m-102.“Botulinum Therapy for Migraines.”
  4. Rozmaita O., MC.m-212.“A Study on the Effectiveness of Botulinum Toxin Treatment for Patients with Aesthetic Skin Issues.”

We thank all participants for their active involvement and enthusiasm for scientific research!
The next meeting will take place soon—stay tuned for updates and announcements on our website. We invite everyone with a passion for science to join our society!
