Popularizing Medical Education Among Schoolchildren in Trostianets

To form a realistic understanding of studying at the Educational and Scientific Medical Institute (ESMI) and the medical profession, graduates need comprehensive and consistent information. For students to make a truly conscious and informed career choice, it is essential to consider at least three factors: awareness of the chosen profession, understanding of personal characteristics, and the ability to align one’s abilities with the demands of the profession and specialty.

An event tailored for the students of Secondary Education Institution I-III levels No. 5 of Trostianets City Council was held on January 10, 2025, by Kateryna KLYMENKO, a student of the SM-401 group. The event took the form of a career guidance talk, supplemented with a presentation about ESMI. Kateryna introduced the students to the institute’s specialties, including Medicine, Dentistry, Physical Therapy and Rehabilitation, Public Health, Physical Education and Sports, and Emergency Medicine. She provided detailed information about the positions graduates can hold and placed particular emphasis on the advantages of the “Dentistry” specialty, being a student of this field herself.

Drawing from her experience, Kateryna shared insights into the vibrant student life, the variety of extracurricular activities, and the numerous opportunities for growth and self-realization at Sumy State University. During the event, students received valuable advice on choosing their professional paths, emphasizing that the profession a graduate chooses today determines not only their own future but also the future of the entire country.

The event primarily aimed to broaden the students’ understanding of ESMI specialties, foster a positive attitude towards them, and assist in making a responsible step in life—finalizing the choice of their future profession.
