October Meeting of the Student Scientific Society – Prion Diseases

Today, October 10, our student scientific society kicked off its activities for the academic year. The first thematic meeting took place online in a friendly atmosphere. The topic of the meeting was “Prion Diseases,” which are relevant worldwide, including in Ukraine.

Prion diseases represent a large group of related neurodegenerative conditions. All prion diseases are fatal, and currently, there are no effective treatments available.

The presenters were students from the 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 4th years. The honor of opening the meeting was given to first-year students Lyubomyr Berg and Andrii Diadiura, who are participating in the society for the first time. Despite their nervousness, they delivered excellent presentations.

Other impressive and engaging presentations were given by Yehor Pelekh (2nd year), Vitalii Khomiak (4th year), Andrii Kidymenko (3rd year), and Myroslava Zhurenko (2nd year). The relevance of the topic sparked a number of questions for the speakers and a lively discussion.

We eagerly look forward to the next meeting of the society.
