Interactive Workshop “Mind Games: How the Brain Creates Reality”

On March 14, 2025, as part of Brain Awareness Week, the interactive workshop “Mind Games: How the Brain Creates Reality” took place. The event was led by Associate Professor of the Department of Physiology and Pathophysiology, Olha Obukhova.

During the workshop, participants explored the peculiarities of human perception and the mechanisms the brain uses to construct our view of the world. Key topics included: How does perception work? Why do we see illusions? How does the brain process sensory information? Why does our consciousness sometimes distort reality?

Participants were introduced to well-known optical and cognitive illusions, such as the Müller-Lyer illusion, the Thatcher effect, and pareidolia, among others.

The workshop attracted students, faculty, and all those interested in the functioning of the human brain. Attendees had a unique opportunity to expand their knowledge and understand how our reality is shaped through the lens of neurophysiology and psychology.

This event provided an excellent opportunity to develop critical thinking and gain a deeper awareness of how the mind works. Thank you to everyone who joined this fascinating scientific experience!
