Forty-fifth scientific readings in memory of academician O.O. Bogomolets

On May 16, 2024, the staff of the department attended the forty-fifth scientific readings named after Academician O.O. Bohomolets in memory of the outstanding scientist, which was organised by the Ministry of Health of Ukraine, the Presidium of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, the Presidium of the National Academy of Medical Sciences of Ukraine, the Board of the Scientific Society of Pathophysiologists of Ukraine, and the Bogomolets National Medical University.

The readings were held online and were dedicated to modern problems of theoretical and practical medicine.

Introductory remarks were made by the Rector of the Bogomolets National Medical University, Doctor of Medicine, Professor, Honoured Doctor of Ukraine, Corresponding Member of the National Academy of Medical Sciences of Ukraine Yuriy Leonidovych Kuchin and Honoured Doctor of Ukraine, Professor of the Ukrainian Military Medical Academy, Scientific Advisor to the Academy of Silesia (Poland), Chief Physician of the Institute of Dermatology and Cosmetology Dr Olga Vadymivna Bohomolets.

The lecture on ‘Circadian rhythms and molecular clocks: from experimental research to clinical application’ was presented by Ihor Petrovych Kaidashev, Vice-Rector for Scientific Work of Poltava State Medical University, Doctor of Medicine, Professor, Honoured Worker of Science and Technology of Ukraine, Laureate of the State Prize of Ukraine in Science and Technology.

I.P. Kaidashev drew the attention of the audience to the important mechanism of the molecular basis of the circadian rhythm functioning in the human body.

In addition, he explained in detail the path of research from experiment to clinical application in practice.

At the end of the lecture, the organisers and participants shared their memories of the event.
