Educational Manual “Hereditary Diseases”

The publishing house of SumDU has released an educational manual for students of medical higher education institutions titled “Hereditary Diseases,” authored by Associate Professors of the Department of Physiology and Pathophysiology at SumDU, Antonina Anatoliivna  Biesiedina and Maryna Mykolaivna Demenko.

The manual aims to provide foundational knowledge on topics such as the genetics of heredity, molecular and chromosomal bases of inheritance, patterns of trait inheritance, mechanisms of hereditary pathology development; etiology, pathogenesis, diagnosis, and treatment of hereditary diseases; the influence of environmental factors on the emergence of monogenic and polygenic hereditary diseases; and a brief overview of key methods for researching hereditary disorders.

Designed for medical students, the manual will also be valuable for medical interns, general practitioners, and anyone interested in expanding their knowledge in this field.
