On January 30, 2025, a conference of the labor collective of the Educational and Scientific Medical Institute (ESMI) took place, during which participants were presented with the report of the ESMI Director, Andrii LOBODA, on the results of activities in 2024.

In his speech, Andrii Mykolayovych highlighted the achievements and challenges in each area of the institute’s work. He informed the attendees about ESMI’s inclusion in the Times Higher Education World University Rankings for “Medicine and Health Sciences,” securing a position of 601–800 globally and ranking 1st in Ukraine.

Throughout the year, the institute successfully implemented domestic and international grants, further developed the Eastern Ukrainian Medical Journal, which achieved Category A status by the end of 2024. A milestone event not only for the institute but for the entire university was the success of students specializing in “Physical Education and Sports” at the Winter World University Games. Bohdan Borkovskyi and Serhii Suprun won a total of three gold, one silver, and one bronze medal—Sumy State University’s best result in the history of university games.
