On March 26, 2025, the Department of Physiology and Pathophysiology with the Course of Medical Biology, with the support of the Adaptation and Career Guidance Sector of the Student Directorate of the Educational and Scientific Medical Institute, organized an intellectual game \u2013 the Biological Brain-Ring.<\/p>

This year, teams from other educational institutions also participated in the event, including students from the Sumy Professional Medical College and Sumy Lyceum No. 33. A total of 30 participants competed for victory, forming five teams: “Autosomal-Dominant”\u00a0(1st-year students of the “Medicine” program at the ESMI), “EndoGuru”\u00a0(2nd-year students of the “Dentistry” program at the ESMI), “Paramedic Colleagues”\u00a0(1st-year students of the “Emergency Medicine” program at the ESMI), “Number 2”\u00a0(10th\u201311th grade students from Sumy Lyceum No. 33), and “Magura”\u00a0(2nd-year students from Sumy Professional Medical College).<\/p>

The competition was overseen by a competent jury, chaired by Viktoriia\u00a0HARBUZOVA, Head of the Department of Physiology and Pathophysiology with the Course of Medical Biology at the ESMI of Sumy State University. The jury members included Iryna BILOKON, a top-category teacher at Sumy Professional Medical College, as well as\u00a0Antonina\u00a0BIESIEDINA\u00a0(Associate Professor), Zoya LEVCHENKO\u00a0(Assistant), and Tetyana OLESHKO\u00a0(Assistant) from the Department of Physiology and Pathophysiology with the Course of Medical Biology at the ESMI. Additionally, Yelyzaveta IVANOVA, a 2nd-year student, was part of the jury. The score count was managed by the counting commission, consisting of Olha OBUKHOVA\u00a0(Associate Professor) and Kateryna ZAVGORODNIA, a 2nd-year student.<\/p>

During the preliminary stage, each team played against every other team in a round consisting of five questions. Based on the results, two teams with the highest scores\u2014”Autosomal-Dominant”\u00a0and “EndoGuru”\u2014advanced to the final round.<\/p>

After an intense battle, “Autosomal-Dominant”\u00a0claimed victory. The team, led by captain Zakhar Sakhnenko, included Daria Neicheva, Viktoria Shuhaiova, Liliia Nedaykhlib, Inna Kulyk,\u00a0and Yelyzaveta Bezkhorovaina.<\/p>

The second place was taken by “EndoGuru”, captained by Daria Kosenko, with team members Illya Morikawa, Kateryna Batura, Anna Sklir, Taisia Shakhunova,\u00a0and Oksana Veklenko.<\/p>

The third place was secured by the school team “Number 2”, led by captain Polina Sapich, with players Tetiana Stoyan, Zakhar Kiryan, Vladyslav Kolyshkin, Karina Popadiuk,\u00a0and Eva Van Saiyen.<\/p>

The most active team\u00a0was recognized as “Magura”\u00a0from Sumy Professional Medical College, captained by Eleonora Kutas, with team members Anastasia Kardashova, Bohdan Ivashchenko, Yevheniia Haivoronska, Veronika Shum,\u00a0and Varvara Chyzhyk.<\/p>

The “Paramedic Colleagues”\u00a0team, captained by Oleh Kushch, with members Oleksandra Havrylenko, Daria Piddubna, Viktoria Radina, Yelyzaveta Rannieva,\u00a0and Yelyzaveta Lysianska, received the “For the Will to Win”\u00a0award.<\/p>

In individual nominations, awards were given to the following participants:<\/p>

Best Captain\u00a0\u2013 Oleh Kushch (MS-401)<\/p>

Deep Theoretical Knowledge\u00a0\u2013 Yevheniia Haivoronska (Sumy Professional Medical College), Daria Neicheva (MCM-406), Zakhar Kiryan (Sumy Lyceum No. 33)<\/p>

Fastest and Most Agile\u00a0\u2013 Illya Morikawa (SM-301)<\/p>

A special award from the jury was presented to Bohdan Okhrimenko, the host of the Brain-Ring.<\/p>

Throughout the event, a friendly and welcoming atmosphere prevailed in the hall. Even after the competition ended, participants continued discussing the questions and sharing their impressions.<\/p>
