As part of Brain Awareness Week, we continued our events with a visit to the “Ulab” Virtual and Augmented Reality Laboratory.<\/p>

Yuriy Oleksandrovych Zuban, Associate Professor of the Department of Electronics and Computer Engineering\u00a0and Director of the E-Learning Technology Center at Sumy State University, spoke to school students, university students, staff, and guests about the impact of virtual reality on brain function.<\/p>

Attendees had the opportunity to experience VR simulations\u00a0using virtual reality headsets. This immersive experience helped them understand how virtual products\u2014such as new computer games\u00a0or 360-degree films\u2014are created. Through VR, participants engaged with visual stimuli\u00a0generated by computer graphics, along with other sensory impressions.<\/p>

Virtual reality is widely used in medical education, diagnostics, treatment, rehabilitation, surgery, and counseling methods. This medical simulation technology\u00a0enables students to practice their skills without the risk of making critical errors.<\/p>

A major advantage of VR development in medicine is that students can learn and perform medical procedures on virtual human bodies, eliminating the need for live patient practice at the early stages of training.<\/p>

One of the most crucial aspects\u00a0of VR technology, making it ideal for those studying healthcare, is its ability to fully engage users\u00a0while offering vast opportunities for future applications.<\/p>
